If you're looking for the closest thing to a traditional European Christmas market without leaving the United States, Chicago is hard to beat.

The Christkindlmarket Chicago brings the sights, sounds, flavors, and traditions of a German Christmas market to the heart of downtown. Wooden market stalls, German-inspired foods, ornaments, handmade gifts, and warm mugs of glühwein create an atmosphere that feels distinctly European.

The Carmel Christkindlmarkt has become one of the country's standout holiday markets, featuring German-inspired food, handcrafted gifts, festive entertainment, and an outdoor ice-skating rink.

One of the things I love about Carmel is how easy it is to experience. The market is located in the heart of the city's downtown district, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and other attractions.

Where I'd Stay

Hotel Carmichael is my clear choice.

The hotel is located right in Carmel's City Center and is just steps from the Christkindlmarkt. That means your clients can walk out of the hotel and immediately be part of the holiday festivities.

No complicated transportation. No long drives. Just walk outside and enjoy Christmas.
